Le domaine du Chêne Bleu is our big crush of the year at la CUV !
Abélard : Old vines of Grenache (45 ans years old minimum). Flavours of wild strawberry and black berries.
With a majority of Grenache, Abelard is full-bodied and has silky tannins, whereas Héloïse will have more fruity and spicy flavors, with its majority of Syrah.
Maybe the name of this vintage reminds you of a distant history class....On the 11th century, Abélard and Héloïse lived a story of forbidden and impossible love, which yet resulted in the birth of a son named Astralabe. Separated by force after the discovery of their relation, they exchanged many love letters which are still famous and studied nowadays.
